Melbourne Cup Sweeps: What will you do if you win?

It’s the race the stops a nation, and for many of us, the Melbourne Cup also presents a rare opportunity to win big in the work sweepstakes or to have a little flutter on your favourite horse in the draw.

If Tuesday’s race is anything like 2015, when Prince of Penzance took the honours at 100 to 1 with Michelle Payne onboard, there could be some serious celebrating to do. Just imagine if you were holding that winning ticket when the thoroughbreds crossed the line. What would you do with your new-found fortune, and where would go?

We think there’d be no better way to make the most of the windfall than to plan a trip to one of our 2020 tours, where you could create memories that will truly last a lifetime.

For example, for just $3,000 AUD you can lock in plans to join us when we head to Everest Base Camp! Everest base camp is 14 nights and 15 days of epic adventuring as you make your way to the foothills of majestic Mount Everest.

Experience the rich culture of this Himalayan region as you visit sites significant to local life such as the Tengboche Monastery, where expeditioners visit to light candles and seek blessings from the gods for protection, good health, and safe mountaineering; you will also experience the hustle and bustle of the Namche Bazaar, an important trading hub for Sherpas.

Not only that, but next year we have 8 amazing adventures planned for our Classic Tour du Mont Blanc. If you’d had around one hundred dollars on Prince Of Penzance, it would have gone a long way to getting you there! Mont Blanc is by far our most popular trek.

If you’re lucky enough to sweep $4,200 of winnings, you’re good to go on our favorite trek! Commonly regarded as the most luxurious trek in the world, the Tour du Mont Blanc combines the best of the Savoie region: amazing scenery throughout France, Italy, and Switzerland; rich, delicious traditional cuisine; wines and cheeses; and an in-depth experience of local cultures.

Then there’s  Kilimanjaro. If you’re a high roller AND you’re lucky enough to sweep the equivalent of $4,950 or more, that’s enough to take you to Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s rooftop.

Scale one of the world’s Seven Summits in this grand adventure above Tanzania in comfort, with our luxury accommodations that include walk-in tents equipped with full-sized  sleeping cots with matresses and pillows for a good night’s sleep. Our premium camp facilities include a fully furnished mess tent as well as toilet and shower/wash tents. Now that’s traveling in style!

If the African heat is not to your liking, maybe adventures up north will be more to your taste. Explore the untouched wilderness of Norway’s Lofoten Islands, and immerse yourself in natural adventure.

Go on a sea eagle safari, observing these magnificent birds up close; go on a deep-sea fishing experience and cook your catch in a private cooking class with a Michelin-star chef; and if you go at the right time of year, learn to photograph the legendary Northern Lights with a professional photographer.

So, who will you bet on this Melbourne Cup and if you are lucky enough to pick a winner, where will you let your winnings take you?

But if you don’t back the horse that crosses the line first, don’t worry, we can work with you on plans to get you to your dream destination without having to pray for a miracle!

Just drop us a line here  and we will reach out to see how we can assist!

Hope to hear from you soon and enjoy your Melbourne Cup!
